"A Tribute at the Gate: Honoring James Ito and Katsuji Kanagawa"
At the historic front gate of Manzanar, we gather in solemn tribute to two young men — James Ito and Katsuji Kanagawa — who were shot and killed during the 1942 uprising. This event honors their lives, their courage, and the enduring legacy of resistance within the camps. Please meet at the parking lot for the Manzanar Visitor Center at 8:15 PM to attend.

MINIDOKA PILGRIMAGE

The Wakasa Spirit Stone at Minidoka Pilgrimage

This summer, the Wakasa Spirit Stone will travel to the Minidoka Pilgrimage to share its story of remembrance, resilience, and resistance. As part of the pilgrimage, the lantern will pay tribute to all who passed away while incarcerated at Minidoka. By sharing the story of the Wakasa Spirit Stone, we honor their memory and reflect on the deep loss and strength carried by those who endured unjust incarceration during World War II.
